Oakview Campus Patient & Visitor Screening

All patients and visitors will be screened by an OrthoNebraska team member at access desks. Screenings include temperature checks, proper mask utilization, and the following questions:

  • Have you been advised to self-quarantine because of exposure to someone with COVID-19?
  • Did you have close contact with a person under investigation for COVID-19 within the last 14 days?
  • Did you have a fever, consistent cough, loss of taste/smell, sore throat, and/or shortness of breath?

There is no restriction on travel.

Social distancing reminders will be located throughout the clinic. This includes floor decals to designate appropriate distances, as well as banners and chair signs. In addition, chairs have been spaced to the best of our ability.

Masks are still required for all patient-facing staff, patients, and visitors. An OrthoNebraska team member will be monitoring the waiting areas to be able to assist patients in maintaining proper social distancing and frequently sanitizing spaces.

In an abundance of caution, OrthoNebraska continues to limit visitors in the clinic areas and will not allow any visitors in pre/post operative departments.

Effective March 22, 2021 , one healthy, designated visitor will be allowed per patient after they have been assigned a room on the second floor of OrthoNebraska Hospital. This individual will be screened upon entry, must wear a mask at all times, and cannot leave the patient’s room. Visiting hours are limited to 7:00AM-

One healthy, designated visitor may accompany an Emergency patient; however, they must complete on-site screening and wear a mask at all times.

We understand there may be circumstances that require exceptions to our visitor policy. This may include minors, dependent adults, or caregivers required for transportation following a procedure.

Additional Patient/Visitor Precautions

  • Signs are located on chairs in waiting areas to encourage patients and visitors to follow proper social distancing guidelines. Where appropriate, chairs will be removed.
  • Patients in peri-operative areas will maintain proper social distancing guidelines, where appropriate.
  • Updated medical requirements for patients receiving surgery.
  • No patients or visitors are allowed in the OrthoNebraska Cafe.

All patients and visitors must wear a face covering over their mouth and nose at all times while in any OrthoNebraska facility. If the patient or visitor does not have a face covering upon arrival they will be provided one. Patients and visitors are allowed to take these masks home following their appointment; however, we advise that they be considered ‘dirty’ and be disposed of after exiting the building.
