OMAHA (July 9, 2026) — OrthoNebraska has launched a series of website updates designed to create an intuitive, accessible, and patient-focused online experience. The updates make it easier for patients to find information, explore treatment options, and connect with the orthopedic specialists they need.
While much of the work took place behind the scenes to improve the site’s technical foundation, patients will also benefit from a number of meaningful enhancements, including:

In the following interview, Katie Benak, Vice President, Marketing and Communications, shares more about OrthoNebraska’s website enhancements and the thinking behind the project. Their responses have been condensed for length.
What are some of the most meaningful improvements people will notice?
Benak: One of the biggest improvements is how much easier it is to find information. We invested in a significantly enhanced search experience that delivers more intuitive and relevant results, helping patients quickly locate providers, treatments, conditions, and educational resources, while also positioning us to continue to iterate as consumers familiarize themselves with AI Search.
Navigation was another major focus. We introduced clearer page hierarchy, breadcrumbs, and stronger connections between related content so visitors can naturally explore without feeling lost. We also added search suggestions to surface important resources and featured content that patients might otherwise miss.
Taken together, these enhancements help patients spend less time searching and more time getting the answers they need.
Which new feature or enhancement are you most excited about, and why?’
Benak: One feature we’re especially excited about is the new Education+ center. Patient education has always been an important part of how we care for people, and this creates a much more connected experience. Rather than feeling separate from the rest of the website, educational content is now easier to discover while patients are researching providers, conditions, or treatments. It’s all interconnected!
Many of these improvements happened behind the scenes. Why was it important for OrthoNebraska to invest in those types of enhancements?
Benak: Some of the most valuable improvements aren’t always the most visible. Behind-the-scenes enhancements make the website faster, easier for search engines and LLMs to understand, easier to navigate, more accessible, and better prepared to evolve over time.
For us, investing these things positions us well not just today, but well into the future. These improvements also give us the flexibility to continue expanding educational content and digital services as patient needs change.
How do these updates support OrthoNebraska’s long-term commitment to patient care and education?
Benak: Our website is often the first or last meaningful interaction many patients have with OrthoNebraska for each episode of care. We want that experience to reflect the same level of care, expertise, and attention patients receive in person.
These updates make it easier for patients to find trusted information, learn about conditions and treatment options, and connect with the right specialist. They also create a stronger foundation for continuing to expand educational resources and digital tools that help patients make informed decisions throughout their care journey.
What advice would you give other healthcare organizations looking to improve their digital patient experience?
Benak: Start with your patients, not the technology. Think about the questions people are trying to answer and the tasks they’re trying to accomplish. Every improvement should make it easier for patients to find information, understand their options, and take the next step.
Not every meaningful website improvement requires a complete redesign. Sometimes the greatest impact comes from continually investing in navigation, search, accessibility, content, and education—making the experience a little better with every update.
