My name is Jill. I’m a part-time preschool teacher. I have two teenage boys. My husband and I keep very busy with them and I have my youngest is on the spectrum, so we have lots of therapies each week that we go back and forth to.

I wasn’t sleeping. I couldn’t do the exercises I wanted to do or anything like that. So, I tried injections first and then I went to Dr. Porter.

I’ve been to OrthoNebraska before for my knee and got a knee scope and had wonderful care. My son’s been there for a broken foot. So, we’ve always had really wonderful care there.

My initial appointment with Dr. Porter was first scheduled through my other doctor. He had the MRI results already and everything like that. And so, he knew right away what my surgery options would be. And he knew I was very, very, very nervous about it. I was not excited. I was really hoping to avoid surgery, but he told me all my options.

They made me feel confident just because they took the time with me, answered all my questions. They were always available.

The first few weeks were pretty tough. Um, but I had had occupational therapy before to help me figure out how to move, get in and out of bed. And then the first three months were very restrictive. Finally, after that, I was able to start physical therapy, which helped a lot.

My life now is wonderful. I can sleep. I can get down on the floor as my preschoolers. I can clean better at home. I can do just laundry. Everything is a lot lot better. So, it’s just life-changing.

I would definitely recommend OrthoNebraska to friends and family. In fact, I have for several people that I know that have back pain.
