Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital and OrthoWest announced on May 12, 2017 that they will be serving patients as OrthoNebraska.
OrthoWest is the largest orthopaedic and musculoskeletal practice in the state, boasting more than 25 orthopaedic surgeons, three rheumatologists, a neurosurgeon, and a physiatrist. OrthoWest’s history includes NebOrtho and dates back to the 1930s. It’s an evolution of orthopaedic and sports medicine physician practices in Omaha and the surrounding communities.
Under the ownership of OrthoWest physicians and Nebraska Medicine, Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital opened in 2004 as the region’s first hospital dedicated to the complete care and treatment of the orthopaedic patient. In 2016, the hospital was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the #1 hospital in the area for orthopaedics – the only hospital in Nebraska to be nationally ranked in any sub-specialty.
