Cindy Baumer, RN: My name is Cindy. I am one of the lead nurses in the pre-op PACU area. I’ve been here 20 years. I started here as a staff nurse and then I’ve grown into a leadership position.
I came here originally because some of my friends were working here and they said that this was going to be a new experience, that we were opening an ortho hospital, and I wanted to be a part of it.
We’ve grown in numbers, but our feel of a small hospital has not.
Shayla Phillips, RN: The culture here is unlike anywhere else I’ve worked. Everybody works together. Everybody’s so kind.
Personally, it’s given me a lot more work life balance. Just being able to work like Monday through Friday and being able to be there with my kids.
Professionally, I feel like just the team environment just makes you want to do so much better at your job.
Payton Childress, CNA: The environment of co-workers, safety of patients, getting to know your patients, getting to see the outcome of your patients. The relationships between the employees is amazing. It’s another family.
Derek Emanuel, RN: I had heard really great things about OrthoNebraska through the community.
Everybody shows up and they have a positive attitude and I think everybody takes pride in the work that they do here.
