Omaha, NE – OrthoNebraska, the only orthopaedic system in Nebraska recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of “100 hospitals and health systems with great orthopedic programs.”, will be breaking ground on a new clinic and physical therapy location in Elkhorn.
The new facility, which will be situated on the southwest corner of 204th and West Center Road, will include 16 exam rooms, two procedure rooms, radiology services, and more than 9,500 square feet of physical therapy space.
“This is a geographic area OrthoNebraska has been looking at expanding into for some time now,” says President of OrthoNebraska Clinic and Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Ryan Arnold. “Our organization has grown immensely in the last few years and, as we look to provide increased access to our specialists, we really wanted to have a presence in the growing Elkhorn/Gretna community.”
Providing access has been a focus for OrthoNebraska, the first in the Omaha area to provide Orthopaedic Urgent Care services seven days a week, including late on weeknights. In addition, OrthoNebraska delivers sports medicine coverage to the Elkhorn and Millard High Schools as well as the Omaha Stormchasers.
Chief Executive Officer Levi Scheppers says direct access to the type of care OrthoNebraska provides is critical. “Patients don’t need a referral to seek out the expert opinion of an orthopaedic surgeon, for example.”
“We wanted to make it simple to engage with our specialists. That was really our goal in opening the orthopaedic urgent care – easy access to the right provider when our patients need it most. Surgery only represents a portion of our services. Our team is very much dedicated to the non-operative side of pain management and getting people back to what they love.”
“With patient experience scores that surpass many benchmarks, OrthoNebraska is really a destination for musculoskeletal care,” says Arnold. “Many of our orthopaedic surgeons sub-specialize in very specific areas. Patients are truly getting expert advice and treatment, but beyond that we hope they find the entire experience unmatched.”
This past year alone, OrthoNebraska has added two Orthopaedic Primary Care Physicians and two Rheumatologists. A rising demand for services means the recruitment of additional specialists will be a focus for the organization.
OrthoNebraska expects the new facility to be open by Fall 2021.
