Surgery Education

At OrthoNebraska, we believe an informed patient is a healthy patient. If you are undergoing a hip, knee or shoulder replacement, we strongly recommend you watch a video overview of what to expect and how to prepare for surgery. For many common types of procedures, we also have information on the procedure itself, anesthesia, videos on the best way to approach activities of daily living that may be more difficult after your surgery, and other resources.

This is designed to inform patients of what to expect at all stages of their care. Use the following links depending on your exact procedure:

Knee & Below

Hand & Wrist

Hip

Our surgeons utilize several different hip replacement surgical techniques based on their experience and what works best for each individual patient. If you’re not sure what technique is being used, please ask your surgeon by calling (402) 609-3000.

We also have a general guide to preparing for any type of surgery.
